Non-force Techniques
Cranio-Sacral, SOT, and Tonal
Did you know there are literally dozens of “types” of chiropractic care? Your Doctor of Chiropractic chooses one or more techniques to specialize in. This is why people can have such different types of visits depending on the office they choose. That also means if they weren’t successful in a past chiropractic setting, they may have just not been in the right office for them.
In general, there are three schools of thought for why a misalignment occurs. The bulk of our practice members need to focus on the bone moving out of place (see our Gonstead page). Another focuses on the tissue from the inside of the neuro-spinal column called the Dura. The dura is what surrounds the brain and spinal cord and suspends it in the head and spinal bones. By lightly brushing over the areas where the dura connects to the spine, we can unwind the tension and bring ease to the body without ever feeling force or hearing sounds of the bones moving.
This is ideal for children as well as anyone nervous about chiropractic care including those with past trauma. It is the model of doing the least to effect the most.
